They are more differentiated, with range of options and learning streams. But in primitive cultures, most of the education happens not on the formal but on the informal level. Our community comes to us seeking tools to help answer everyday questions. Elected officials’ decisions affect everything from school budgets to teaching credentials to class sizes. As borrowers wait for the administration to unveil an application for loan forgiveness, they are wary of legal challenges and a proliferation of misinformation. It is one of many colleges and universities deliberating over how to respond to the overturning of Roe v. Wade. There is disagreement in the academic literature on whether education is an evaluative concept. So-called thick definitions affirm this, for example, by holding that an improvement of the learner is a necessary requirement of education. However, different thick definitions may still disagree among themselves on what constitutes such an improvement. Thin definitions, on the other hand, try to give a value-neutral account of education.
